If the coast is calling, Sunday’s farmers market in Galveston has a food drive alongside the shopping. A good weekend can do a little good, too.

Ricebird homecoming is tonight.

Get there early enough for the homecoming moment, then settle in for Friday-night football. ECISD lists online tickets or $10 cash at the gate.

A theatre night at Freyburg Hall.

Now and Then

A stranger, an after-hours drink, and an offer that changes the conversation. Fayette County Community Theatre brings Sean Grennan’s romantic comedy to Freyburg Hall.

Take the back road for an afternoon of live music, with Uncle Mike’s BBQ Food Truck on the venue’s schedule. It’s a simple plan for an unhurried Saturday. Check directly with the venue for admission and any schedule changes.

Head to Shiner for German music, food, and games for all ages. It’s another easy Saturday option if you’re in the mood for a small-town outing. The brewery lists this as an all-day event; check its page for updates before heading out.

Galveston’s Own Farmers Market

Shop farm products, locally grown food, and handmade goods. This Sunday, Keeping Galveston Fed joins the market for a canned-food drive. Bring a donation if you can, and make the morning about more than your own grocery bag.
